Come enjoy Adirondack style cottages nestled amongst tall trees on the sandy shores of Long Pond.
Carved by the retreating glacier, the mile-long lake offers clean, clear, water, fishing, excellent canoeing
and sailing, and swimming beaches.
Our classic summer cottages offer an old-fashioned vacation where you can enjoy the outdoors and the
simple pleasures of rural life. The cottages, with their peaceful, rustic charm, are surprisingly close to
Cape Cod's tourist destinations, ocean beaches, and golf courses. But you can also find lots to keep you
busy right on Long Pond. Each cottage has waterfront access. Nature preserves, cranberry bogs, and
sandy roads offer places to walk and bike near by. Families and groups are a great fit!
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!
The Cornish Point Cottages are located within an hour of Boston and Providence and 15 minutes from the bridges of Cape
Cod Canal. Plymouth's historic sites and stores are 15 minutes away. The Lower Cape is an easy ½ day excursion while the
Upper Cape and Islands are a hefty day trip. Both bus and train lines run from downtown Plymouth to Boston. Please click on
the "Information and Directions" links for more specific directions.
ACTIVITIES ABOUND
Plan on spending time outdoors. Long Pond is the best swimming lake around -- clean and clear with lots of sandy areas and
wooded shores. The pond is popular with fishermen too. In spring there are stocked salmon and trout. During the summer
we've caught trout, bass, perch and sunfish. Apley House is adjacent to an extensive nature preserve, you can easily walk to
two other beautiful ponds from the trails leading out of the yard. We've seen osprey, eagles and loons on these walks. The
Palace and Lilli Group are situated deep in the woods at the end of a private sandy lane. Although there is plenty of wildlife
right there at your doorstep, you will want to hike and mountain bike on these roads. And of course, be sure to bring a good
beach book and games just in case it rains.
MORE ABOUT THE NAMES:
Many people ask why our cottages have names. Lilly Conant, great grandmother to the youngest of our clan, grew up in
Yorkshire, UK where homes commonly have names. Lilly helped found Pinewoods Camp, the folk dance and music camp for
adults and families, that is next door. She named our cottages after English Country Dances and for family members. Four
generations have since summered in these cottages for over 60 years.
